This was a project where I learned a lot of new things. Sometimes, InDesign did not seem to be behaving, like when I tried to put an effect on text that had been turned to outlines. The text was visible, but the effect hid behind the background, even though it was on a layer at the bottom. Not quite sure what I did wrong.

This is a flyer I created for my ex-husband, I designed the logo in Illustrator so the T looks like a roofing nail. I know what they look like because I they used to get stuck in my tires all the time when I was married to him. Oh the joys of living with Mr. Fix-It. we get along much better tnow that we are divorced.

Images Project

I was stuck for inspiration and I googled "award winning typography." I saw some cool designs but what really was inspiring was some typography posters at

I flet stuck until I came up with a design, then it seemed easy to recreate with the pen tool and type on a path. I tried t okeep the whole page balanced, and just to keep the text from looking too boring, I had some in white and some in black. The gray background allowed both colors to be readable.

InDesign Intro

Hello,
My name is Mindy Tons, this is a picture of my daughter and her friends on her 13th Birthday at Belmont Park. She is a good kid (she would be perfect if she would do her home work, but hey, none of us are perfect) and is alot of fun.

I currently work as a Production Specialist which is a big title for a boring job of answering emails, billing and helping people create junk mail that you will throw in the recycling bin. Several years ago I got a 2 year degree in Graphic Design in Florida (I learned Illustrator 8 and Photoshop 5.5, like I said, a long time ago.) When I moved to California 6 years ago, I made the mistake of taking a secretarial job with slightly more money instead of a graphics job. Now, 10 years and 5 software versions later, I wish I had never stopped working in graphics. I would like to learn the latest programs so I could get a job with color, images and creativity.
